The parliamentary elections in Tunisia in 2004 took place on 24 October 2004.
In selecting the members of the Chamber of Deputies were redefined. At the same time also presidential elections were held.
Election process
There were 189 seats in parliament for election.
Official election results
The ruling party Constitutional Democratic collection (RCD) won the election with 87.59 % high house, and thus put all 152 of the 189 seats in parliament. The second strongest party, the Movement of Socialist Democrats ( MDS) with only 4.63%. In third place, the Party of National Unity (PUP ) followed with 3.64%.
Criticism
The election was criticized by opposition parties antretenden as farce. The opposition only about 20 percent of the seats had been allocated in Parliament outset.
