Tupolev Tu-70

The Tupolev Tu- 70 (Russian Туполев Ту -70, NATO reporting name: Cart) was a passenger version of the Tu- 4 bomber of the Soviet Tupolev design offices

Description

The Tu -70 was equipped with a new hull and cabin pressure, provided the space for 72 passengers. The first flight took place on 27 November 1946. Flight testing of the design was a success, and it was suggested to series production, however the lack of interest on the part of government Aeroflot and due to more urgent military orders never came. On August 3, 1947, she was presented publicly on the air parade in Tushino.

Under the designation Tu- 75 is a based on the Tu-4/Tu-70 freighter was developed.
