Turbostaat

Turbostaat is a German punk band from Flensburg in northern Germany.

Band History

The band Turbostaat went in January 1999 from several less publicized punk bands out (namely exile, Zack Ahoi and Unabomber ). Following the move of the band members from Husum to Flensburg album Flamingo was released in 2001 on the label ships, as well as 2003, the successor swan.

Turbostaat were seen among other things in the opening act of the friendly band Beatsteaks. With these singers January wind Meier worked for the cover of Fu Manchu songs Hell on Wheels, which they called Frieda and the bombs and sided with their own German text together. This song was included on the single to Beatsteaks Hello Joe ( 2004).

In May 2004 Turbostaat played as part of a Scandinavian tour concerts in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The end of 2006 changed Turbostaat to the newly founded label Same Same But Different, and took there the end of March 2007 a ​​new album called foreman Leiss, which was released on 17 August of the same year. 2007 Turbostaat were represented for the first time at Rock am Ring and in November and December 2007 opening act at some concerts of Beatsteaks. They also went several times together with The Gaslight Anthem on stage. In February 2008, the band via MySpace announced to be in the studio again. Then the new album for early 2010 was announced at the Highfield Festival 2009. In addition, they were already playing in the summer festivals, the new songs Surt bully and beachcombing. 2010 in addition to a tour of Germany, the official release date of the fourth studio album was The Iceland maneuvers, April 9 confirmed. In addition, the song Surt tyrant was offered for free download on the band's website.

In early 2012 the band gave the first work on their fifth album city of fear known, which was released on April 5, 2013 at the Hamburg record label Clouds Hill. Since February 28, the song Sohnemann Heinz is available on the band's website for free download. From 6 April Turbostaat goes on tour with performances in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg.
