Turie

Turie ( until 1948 slovak " Turo " - to 1927 " Turo Tridvory "; Hungarian Háromudvar - to 1907 Turótridvori ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia with 1960 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which for Okres Žilina, a part of the Žilinský Region belongs.

Geography

The municipality is located in the southern part of the basin Žilinská kotlina at the foot of the Lesser Fatra. Through the town of Bach Turiansky Brook, which flows into the Rajčianka flows. The center is located at an altitude of 440 m nm and is located ten kilometers south of Žilina.

History

Turie was first mentioned in writing in 1386, the former municipality Tri Dvory only 1436th Both belonged to the manor of Castle Lietava. After 1877, the two centers to join together in a community.

1980-1990 was Turie part of the city of Žilina.
