Turriaco
Turriaco ( in furlanischen dialect: Turiàc ) is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2814 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Gorizia, in Friuli- Venezia Giulia. The community is located about 19 kilometers southwest of Gorizia, on the border with the province of Udine. The eastern border is the Isonzo.
History
Turriaco is first mentioned in 1224 as a place. The community was until the end of World War I part of the county of Gorizia and Gradisca, where she was placed under the jurisdiction Monfalcone, which in turn was part of the district Monfalcone.
