Uchtspringe is a district of the county town of Stendal in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The Stendal district is located at the junction of the Altmark region in the north and the Colbitz - Letzlinger Heath in the south at the source of the river lamp. By Uchtspringe the main railway route between Hanover and Berlin and its parallel federal highway 188 runs Uchtspringe is between Guard Insert in the west and the original city of Stendal in the east, which is about 25 kilometers away. History

Prior to the founding of the mental hospital was the then insignificant community Modderkuhl. The name was changed at the founding of the institution.
