Ulrich Schlüer

Ulrich Walter Schlüer ( born October 17, 1944 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician ( Republican movement, then SVP).

Life

After studying history and German literature at the University of Zurich in 1970 he laid the licentiate and doctorate in 1978. Since 1969 he worked as a middle school teacher of History in Zurich.

Schlüer Ulrich has been married since 1970 and has four children. In the Swiss army, he held the rank of corporal.

Policy

Views

Schlüer represents national conservative views. He is committed to an approach of Switzerland in international organizations like the UN, NATO and the EU.

Organizations

Schlüer was secretary of the controversial Republican James Schwarzenbach. He was a board member of the Working Group Established in 1982, Southern Africa ( asa ). Schlüer is a member of the Campaign for an Independent and Neutral Switzerland ( AUNS ).

Schlüer is a member of the Action Committee of Flaacher launched in May 2007 and adopted in November 2009 the Federal popular initiative " against the construction of minarets ."

Mandates

From 1994 to 1998, Mayor of Schlüer Flaach. From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the Zurich Constitutional Council and presided there, the SVP Group.

In 1995 Schlüer was elected to the National Council and re-elected in 1999 and 2003. At the 2007 elections Schlüer has not been confirmed, but moved after the election of Ueli Maurer to the Federal Council on 2 March 2009 as the first replacement candidate after. In the national elections in 2011 he was not re-elected again.

Schlüer belonged from 1995 to 2011, the Foreign Affairs Committee and from 1999 to 2011 of the Defence Commission.

Ulrich Schlüer founded 1979, the Swiss time Verlags AG and has been editor of the national-conservative newspaper Swiss time.

Schlüer was until 1996 Vice- Chairman and CEO of citizens and Christian publishing AG, headquartered in Flaach. The publisher was, inter alia, Editor of the journal " citizen and Christian," and organized conferences on the topics of church, state and politics. The content of " citizen and Christian," was seen as homophobic and Islamophobic and the Association for the Advancement of Psychological knowledge of human nature (VPM ) related parties.

" Protea "

Schlüer was vice president of Protea Publications Ltd, based in Flaach. He had held this position until the dissolution of the AG in 1996. The corporation raised the " issue of publications and the organization of seminars on the subject of Southern Africa " to the task. The remarks Schlüers in the editions of the publication Protea fell in favor of the white government in South Africa and were regarded as tendentious.
