Ultra Music Festival
The Ultra Music Festival ( UMF ) is a three-day open-air music festival in the electronic dance music that takes place in Miami since 1999. It usually takes place at the end of the Musikmesse Winter Music Conference (WMC ) held at the end of March.
Development
The first two festivals were held in 1999 and 2000 at the South Beach in Miami Beach instead. The festival was the official closing ceremony and after party of the week NAMM Winter Music Conference (WMC ). Due to the large numbers of visitors, the festival in 2001 moved to the Bayfront Park in Miami, where it was held until 2005 with 45,000 visitors. From 2006 it was held in Bicentennial Park, starting in 2007, the festival was held for the first time over two days.
In 2011, the festival was first played with 150,000 visitors over three days from Friday to Sunday and found unlike in previous years, no more than final event of the Winter Music Conference held two weeks which was previously held in Miami. In addition to the Ultra Music Festival 2011, the second of five anniversary events of the weekly radio show "A State Of Trance " has been integrated. They celebrated their 500th episode here. According to a stage announcement that tickets were sold in over 70 countries.
2012 took the festival with 165,000 visitors back to the end of the Winter Music Conference will take place, and has since held again at the Bayfront Park.
2013 was held the festival on two consecutive weekends. Thus, it framed the Winter Music Conference. At a total of 6 days, 330,000 visitors were counted, resulting in a record number of visitors showed. At the end of the festival, the Swedish DJ trio Swedish House Mafia gave their last gig together as part of their One Last Tour.
2014, the festival was held over a weekend at the end of the Winter Music Conference with over 200 DJs on eight stages. Headliners have included Afrojack, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Diplo, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Steve Angello, Tiësto and Zedd. Avicii was supposed to occur on Saturday as the last DJ on the main stage, but he had to cancel his appearance because his gall bladder had to be removed. As a replacement Deadmau5 has been committed.
Offshoot
The first offshoot of the festival there in Ibiza since 2007. Over time, followed by other Ultra Festival in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Seoul, Split and Hvar (Ultra Europe), Johannesburg and Cape Town ( South Africa Ultra ), Bogotá and Tokyo. In order for the Ultra Music Festival is the largest international festival brand in the world.
