Uncial 047

The uncial 047 ( Gregory- Aland, von Soden ε 95 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 8th century. The handwriting is not completely preserved.

Description

The manuscript contains the four Gospels on 152 parchment leaves with some gaps ( Matt. 2.15 to 3.11; 28.10-20, Mark 5.40 to 6.18; 8.35 to 9.19; Johannes 2, 17-42, 14.7 to 15.1; 18.34 to 21.25 ). It has a size of 20.5 × 15.2 cm. The text is in one column with 37-38 lines in a cross shape, in small letters. The parchment is massive, the ink is brown.

It contains Prolegomena, κεφαλαια, Ammonianische sections (Mark 237) Eusebischer canon.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type. He is assigned to the category V.

Matt 16.2 b-3 is not present; John 5:3-4 has Obelus on the edge, John 7, 53 to 8.11 bears no mark.

History

The Codex is in the Princeton University (Library Μed. And Ren. Mss, Garrett 1 ) was preserved in Princeton (New Jersey).
