Union Black is the fourth studio album by the Welsh metal band Skindred. It was released April 25, 2011 in the United Kingdom and on 1 July of the same year in the rest of Europe. The album contains the typical for Skindred as " ragga metal" designated crossover style elements from dubstep and drum and bass.

Background

The album was recorded at Britannia Row Studios by James Loughrey. It was the first time that the band recorded in the United Kingdom with an English producer. Bassist Dan Pugsley stated in an interview that he was pleased that the album in the UK arises because this could help produce a more freedoms as opposed to work in the United States.

Asked about the album title said vocalist Benji Webbe in an interview with the music magazine Kerrang that Union Black is a tribute to the diversity in the UK: "We all have a different background, [ ... ] but when mixing together all the colors, you get black. " Furthermore, he said that he originally had Corey Taylor of Slipknot for cooperation in the sense; due to scheduling problems Taylors pages but can be heard on the song Warning Papa Roach Jacoby Shaddix singer who recorded vocals for the track in the studio. The song had on 28 February in the show by Daniel Carter on BBC Radio 1 premiered. The accompanying video was released on April 6 on Youtube.

On the release of the album a promotional tour followed by the United Kingdom, musical support from Chiodos and Me vs Hero received in Skindred. More concerts followed in the summer of 2011, among other things, at the Wacken Open Air 2011 and at the Download Festival 2011.

The album was well received by many critics to very good. Trash Hits gave the album 5.5 / 6 stars with the recommendation that " this is the Skindred album, on which we have all been waiting for. "
