The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italian: Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Latin: Universitas Studiorum Mutinensis et Regiensis ) - Until 1998, only the University of Modena - is one of the oldest universities in Italy.
The University of Modena was founded in 1175 in Modena, together with the facilities in Reggio Emilia since 1998, a major research university with research contracts of more than 300 companies from the region of Emilia -Romagna.
The university, in collaboration with the Military Academy of Modena also part of the training of officer cadets.

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Group today twelve faculties: of which eight are located in Modena:
