Ústup

Ustup ( German Austup ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers east of Olešnice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Ustup is located in the mountains of the upper Svratka, a part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, on a plateau which slopes steeply to the valley of Křetínka east. South-east rises the Špilberk ( Spielberg, 653 m), in the south of Kamperk (Comb Mountain, 640 m) and northwest of the Zelenkův Kopec (666 m). In Ustup the Bach Crhovský creek rises. About three kilometers north-west was the historical border of Moravia with Bohemia.

Neighboring towns are Bohuňov and Horni Poříčí in the north, Prostřední Poříčí in the northeast, Dolni Poříčí and Křetín in the east, and Vřesice Sulíkov the southeast, Rozsíčka in the south, Crhov the southwest, Olešnice in the west and Kněževes and Veselka in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1374 as Heralt of Kunštát his wife Jitka goods in Ustup overwrote as dowry. Together with Rozsíčka belonged to the largest part of Ustup to the dominions Lysice and Drnovice. An approximately nine houses comprehensive share was submissive by Kunštát. By Ustup led a significant imperial road from Moravia to Bohemia. During the First Silesian War took place on May 9, 1742 between German and Oels Austup to a night battle between Austrian and Saxon troops, in which the Saxons suffered a defeat. In addition to more than 100 casualties they still lost 200 men in Austrian captivity. In 1790, 188 people lived in the village. 1834 Ustup had 205 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ustup formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. After the construction of the railway, the road lost Emperor after 1848 its importance as a transport route. 1868, the school was opened, previously was the teaching of Olešnice. 1890, the village had 220 inhabitants, in 1900 there were 207 in 1939 lived in the municipality 171 people. In 1960, the number of inhabitants had fallen to 101. With the beginning of 1961 Ustup was incorporated into Rozsíčka and at the same time associated with the Okres Blansko. In 1980 Ustup consisted of 21 permanent houses used for residential purposes and had 75 inhabitants. Between 1990 and 1993 Ustup was a district of Olešnice. Since 1994, the community is Ustup again.
