Uwe Bellmann

Uwe Bellmann ( born October 8, 1962 in Freiberg ) is a former German cross-country skiers.

Uwe Bellmann grew up in Sidon on the Eastern Ore Mountains. He began his Skilanglaufkariere in the BSG unit Sidon, and later he started for the SC tractor Oberwiesenthal. Since the early 1980s he was active internationally for the GDR. He made the biggest international success already in his first World Championships in 1982, when he became the starter for the season to coincide with the Finn behind the Soviet Union and the simultaneous Norwegians won at Holmenkollen in Oslo together with Uwe custom, Stefan Schicker and Frank Schröder the bronze medal. About 30 kilometers outdoors style he was 20, in 1982 he reached also in the Cross Country World Cup his first top results, about a fifth over 15 km in Le Brassus. Notable success has also Bellmann national exhibit. At GDR championships he won for the first time over 15 km in 1982 behind Frank Schroeder the runner-up title. 1983 and 1985 he finished third in 1986, he first won the title and defended it the following year. In 1989 he was also in freestyle behind Holger Bauroth again second. About 30 kilometers, he won the title in 1983 and 1987, from 1984 to 1986 he was second three times in a row. Also about 50 km won Bellmann 1983 silver behind Karsten Brandt silver medal and won the medal on this route again in 1986. With the season of tractor Oberwiesenthal Bellmann was 1982 runner-up, 1983 Masters, 1984 third, 1985 re master 1986 second again in 1987 for the third time champion and at the last East German championships in 1989 again runner-up. After the reunification Bellmann was about 10 km behind 1998 Andreas Schlütter and René Sommerfeldt third parties. The Association Season Bavaria Bellmann won from 1992 to 1994 three times in a row the title in 1995 he was third with the second season of Bavaria. In 1998 he won the title again and was with Bayern II 1999 runner-up. After his active sports career Bellmann 2010 was engineer at the German Ski Association and was a long time head technician. In spring 2012, he finished his work as chief engineer.
