Career
SE Palmeiras
Vagner Loves football career began in São Paulo at SE Palmeiras. For the club's striker scored nineteen goals in the 2003 season, which he was instrumental in the rise of his clubs in the Brazilian Série A. In the current 2004 season (now with Palmeiras in the highest class of Brazil ), the attacker moved for eight million euros for CSKA Moscow.
CSKA Moscow
Vagner Love led his new team CSKA Moscow in the first year to victory in the UEFA Cup. In the 3-1 win against CSKA Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Cup final in Lisbon Vagner Love scored the Schlusstor.
In 2008 he was appointed by the coaches as the best player of the Premjer league and was also top scorer with 20 goals.
In 2009, he was with eleven goals, although he failed scorer in the UEFA Cup with his team already in the second round at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Between Brazil and Moscow
On 28 August 2009 Vagner Love returned on loan to SE Palmeiras; allegedly had been decisive for family reasons. He was released from the originally dated to 31 July 2010 loan agreement on 14 January 2010 and a day later from CSKA Moscow to July of 2010 awarded to the CR Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
In August 2010, Vagner Love returned to CSKA Moscow. In the Europa League match against FC Lausanne-Sport 's shot in September 2010 in a 3-0 victory two goals. In January 2012, Vagner Love moved again to Rio de Janeiro to CR Flamengo. He signed a three-year contract until 31 December 2014. In January 2013 Vagner Love returned to CSKA Moscow. In July 2013, he joined the Chinese first division club Shandong Luneng Taishan.
National
In the Copa America 2004, the striker made his debut in the national team when he came off the bench in the first round match against Costa Rica. Although this was his only use in this tournament, he was pleased at the end with the team on winning the Copa América.
After his move to Russia Vagner Love was initially not appointed to the Seleção. After the World Cup 2006, the new coach Carlos Dunga put him in a friendly match against Norway on 16 August 2006 and nominated him for more games. In 2007 he won the Copa America with Brazil in 2007. He came in all six games from the beginning to use and was able to make a hit.
