Valbonë Valley National Park

The National Park Valbonatal (Albanian Parku Kombëtar Lugina Valbonës e ) protects a part of the Albanian Alps in the upper valley of Valbona in northern Albania. It is untouched mountain landscape on the south and east side of the Jezerca, the highest mountain in Albania, which lies entirely within the country's borders, and the upper portion of Valbonatals including places Valbona and Rrogam. Along the flanks of the valleys are extensive forests. The higher regions of the karst mountains are dominated by alpine meadows. In some regions, there are shady all year little snow and firn fields and several small glaciers.

The National Park covers an area of 8000 ha and was established in 1966. Despite the depopulation due to its remote location, a modest tourist infrastructure has evolved in recent years.

About the Qafa e Valbonës a footpath exists in the adjacent National Park Theth.
