Vaulx (Haute-Savoie)

Vaulx is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Vaulx is at 540 m above sea level. M., 11 km west-northwest of the city of Annecy ( straight line ). The farming village extends north Albanais, in a northern tributary of Fier, in the hills, which spreads between the valleys of the Fier and Usses.

The area of ​​19.19 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Genevois. History

Since the 12th century belonged to the priory Vaulx Saint -Victor in Geneva. Until 1872 was officially the spelling Veaux. The name goes back to the Old French word Vaul ( valley).

Attractions

The village church was built in 1899 in the Gothic Revival style.
