Vega de Granada

Vega de Granada is a comarca in the Spanish province of Granada. The name comes from the Valley of the River Genil, the main river in the province of Granada, which also flows through the city of Granada. The Comarca, like all Comarcas in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, established with effect from 28 March 2003.

The comarca consists of 40 municipalities with 538 870 inhabitants, almost 60% of the province 's population. Of these, just over half lives in the city of Granada.
