Velimir Radinović

Velimir Radinović ( born January 17, 1981 in Oakville, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional basketball player of Serbian descent who has both citizenships. He was in his time recently in 2011 with the German Basketball Bundesliga WALTER Tigers Tübingen under contract.

Radinović studied in the United States at the Ohio State University and was active for the high school team Buckeyes in the NCAA Division I. Here he played with, among others with the also active in the BBL Brian Brown. His time with the Buckeyes was overshadowed by the scandal of the Montenegrin player Boban Savović, who had received money, as he had played for the high school team, which was contrary to the regulations of the NCAA. Therefore, all results of the Buckeyes were deleted by 2002 from the result lists.

After graduating in 2004 Radinović went to the homeland of his parents and was in Belgrade for Železnik active before he left the club during the season in December 2005. He subsequently moved to within Serbia, Hemofarm Vrsac after before he played in 2007/ 08 a season in Clermont -Ferrand in the LNB Pro A. However, the club was relegated after just four wins from 2008 at the end of the season. In the following season, he played well second-rate, but at Iraklis in Thessaloniki, Greece. However, Iraklis managed to rise again in 2010 only one season later, in the Radinović in March 2010 in Weissenfels by high class MBC had signed a contract as a replacement for the injured Johnnie Gilbert. In the season of preparation for the BBL 2010/11 season he benefited from the violation of the originally committed Finnish Centre Antti Nikkilä player whose contract has been terminated, and received a new contract with MBC. After the descent of the MBC Radinović moved within the league to WALTER Tigers Tübingen, where he benefited from the sacking of Kenny Williams, who had previously withdrawn from the team and returned to his home country. His contract was terminated prematurely by mutual consent after just six games in November 2011. In April 2012, he announced his retirement from professional basketball due to persistent knee problems.
