Venezuela men's national volleyball team

The Venezuelan national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best Venezuelan player, the Federación Venezolana de the Voleibol represented in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

In his first participation in a World Volleyball Championship Venezuela came in tenth place. As Venezuelans 1974, there again, they had to settle for 21st place. The same result, there were 1978. Four years later, Venezuela increased at number 19, but in the following two tournaments as they were 16 each, the worst team. 1994 and 1998 lacked Venezuela, 2002 in the end, a 17th Place. At the 2006 World Cup, the blow came in the first round.

Olympic games

2008 Beijing Venezuela first participated at the Olympic tournament. With only one win against Japan, the debutant was eliminated in the first round, finishing in ninth place.

South American Championship

Venezuela took first time in 1962 at the volleyball World Grand Prix in part and was equal to a third party. In the next two tournaments, the Venezuelans were subject to the respective hosts Argentina and Brazil only in the finale. When the tournament was held in 1969 for the first time in their own countries, only Brazil was also successful. After missing out on the tournament in 1971 Venezuela returned to third place. There followed three playoff defeats to Brazil and two fourth places. 1985 Venezuela had the second time the Cup in their own country, and again reached the final against Brazil. In the next five years, Venezuela had to classify four times in Brazil and Argentina, Chile in 1993 was still better. In the third championship in Venezuela, the host was defeated for the third time in Brazil. Then there were four third and a second place.

World Cup

Venezuela reached in 2003 with his only previous participation in the World Cup the eighth.

World League

2001 Venezuela first played in the World League and was eliminated in the first round of. The same result occurred in the following two years. 2005 Venezuela was seventh. 2008 and 2009 there was again a 13th place respectively.
