Víctor Sánchez Mata ( born September 8, 1987 in Terrassa, province of Barcelona ) is a Spanish football player. The versatile midfielder plays at Espanyol Barcelona.

Career

In the season 2006/2007 he was the undisputed master player in the third team of the FC Barcelona and played 36 games in which he scored seven goals. In the following season he played under Josep Guardiola as coach in the second team. The team succeeded in the 2007/ 08 season, the rise in the Segunda División B. He made his debut for the professionals gave Sánchez on 2 January 2008 in a 2-2 draw against CD Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey. After the dismissal of Frank Rijkaard Sánchez was appointed the new head coach Guardiola in the first team. Sánchez played 12 games for the first team this season, but was also used in the reserve team.

In the 2009/10 season he played on loan at Deportivo Xerez. Also in the 2010/11 season he played on loan, this time the Spanish first division side Getafe CF. In July 2011 he was engaged by Neuchâtel Xamax. However, his contract dortiger already lost its validity in January 2012, after Xamax the license had been revoked and the first club later filed for bankruptcy little.

On 31 January 2012, the Spanish first division side Espanyol announced the signing of Víctor Sánchez. He was followed by his teammate Kalu Uche. He signed until mid- 2015.
