The Victoria Road is a major arterial road in Sydney in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales. It connects the Western Distributor in Rozelle ( Sydney ) with Church Street in the center of Parramatta and is one of the longest streets of Sydney.

Course

From the western end of the Western Distributor (Met -4 / S40) in Rozelle Victoria Road moves to the northwest of the Iron Cove Bridge, Drummoyne by and crosses the Parramatta River on the Gladesville Bridge. On the north bank of the river, the road goes upriver through the suburbs Gladesville, Ryde, West Ryde, Ermington and Rydalmere.

From there, the further to the west, where it ends at the Church Street in the center of Parramatta. This also assumes the numbering of Victoria Road as State Road 40 ( S40).

Traffic delays

The Victoria Road is one of the most congested roads in Sydney. The average speed was 24 km / h during the morning rush hour traffic and calculates 31 km / h in the afternoon rush hour traffic.
