Viktor Láznička

Viktor Láznička ( born January 9, 1988 in Pardubice) is a Czech chess grandmaster.

Láznička began at age six with the game of chess and chess intensified his training after 3rd place in the Czech U12 competition in 2000. Two years later he won the U14 Championship in Frymburk. His coaches were Kamil Munia, Petr Šebesta, Vigen Mirunian and Michal Konopka. His current coach is Sergey Movsesjan, his teammate at ŠK Rapid Pardubice. Láznička studied business administration at the University of Prague.

Láznička won bronze at the European Championships U18 in 2005 in Herceg Novi. He won in 2006 to consider two points clear at the Czech Cup and thus became the youngest national champion. At the same time he reached through the fulfillment of the third standard has the title of Grand Master. At the Chess Olympiad in Turin in 2006, he scored 7.5 out of 10, after a start with 6/6, an excellent result on the fourth board. Láznička played in the season 2006/2007 in the German Chess League for the SC ban on top board, where he scored 5 points from 15 games. In the 2007/2008 season he plays for TSV Bindlach. In April 2007 Láznička reached at the European Championships in Dresden on the 14th place, so he qualified for the FIDE World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk in November 2007. In April 2008 he won the Open of Kolkata after scoring against K. Sasikiran. In July 2010 he won the World Open in Philadelphia with 7.5 points from 9 games.
