Vilassar de Dalt

Vilassar de Dalt is a Catalan city in the province of Barcelona, in northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Maresme.

Vilassar de Dalt, formerly known as Sant Genís de Vilassar, extending from the coast to the foothills of the mountain ridge Serra de Sant Mateu ( 448 m). The mountainous part of the district is covered by pine and oak forests and willow.

The city is located in the higher part of the district at the foot of the restored Castell de Vilassar. This already existed in the 12th century. 1931, it was declared a " Historical Monument Art ".

Traditional agriculture (wine, grain, feed, potatoes, vegetables, flowers) occurs in relation to the tourist activities (Cottages) more and more into the background. Of importance is the textile and metal industry and the chemical industry.
