Alella
Alella is a Catalan municipality in the province of Barcelona, in northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Maresme.
Geographical location
The municipality is situated approximately 19 km northeast of Barcelona, about 2.5 km from the Mediterranean on the historic Via Augusta. In the neighboring village of El Masnou connection is obtained on the S- train network in Barcelona. In addition, you can reach Alella via the direct motorway connection (C -32) Barcelona - Mataró - Girona.
History
The settlement Alella was first mentioned in 975. From 993 appears already the parish of Sant Feliu d' Alella in the documents. The jurisdiction of the village at the time was the Count of Barcelona.

A major industry in Alella is the wine. The place is named for the eponymous wine region with its own appellation D. O. Alella The local wine cooperative " Alella VinÃcola " was founded in 1906 as one of the first in Catalonia
