Vildanden (airline)

Vildanden was a Norwegian regional airline based in Skien and based on the Skien Airport.

History

In January 2004, local authorities decided to invest in a local airline that should offer several daily flights to Bergen. The company was founded in cooperation with Coast Air. In 2007, the company increased the capacity further, with a new aircraft and daily departures to Stavanger, Molde and three times a week to Stockholm. In November 2007, Molde, however, was taken out of the program. The first profit recorded Vildanden in Q1 2009.

In January 2011, however, the airline went bankrupt and ceased flight operations.

Destinations

Vildanden regularly flew from Skien to the three major Norwegian cities Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger.
