Vinnie Burke

Vinnie Burke (actually Vincent Bucci, born March 15, 1921 in Newark (New Jersey); † February 1, 2001 in New York City ) was an American jazz bassist.

Life

Vinnie Burke played in the first half of the 1940s at Joe Mooney, Tony Scott and Cy Coleman, later with the Sauter - Finegan Orchestra, Tal Farlow, Marian McPartland, Don Elliott, Vic Dickenson, Gil Melle, Bucky Pizzarelli and Bobby Hackett. In the 1950s, Burke also launched their own formations and recorded a number of albums. Otherwise, he was a sideman for Chris Connor, Joe Puma, Eddie Shu and many other musicians.
