Vísky (Blansko District)

Vísky ( German Wisek, formerly Wissek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north-west of Boskovice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Vísky located at the southern foot of the Podorlická pahorkatina ( Podorlicko ) in the Bosko brázda. In the north, the Písečný raise vrch ( 522 m) and the hora ( 544 m ) southwest of the Skřib (470 m). Three kilometers to the east is the route of the unfinished Reichsautobahn Vienna -Breslau.

Neighboring towns are Kladoruby and Andělka in the north, America and Pamětice in the northeast, Knínice u Boskovic and Vážany in the east, Sudice and Bacov the southeast, Hodiška and Chrudichromy in the south, Michov and Podolí the southwest, Jindřichov in the west and Letovice, Třebětín and Trávník in northwest.

History

The first written mention of Vísky took place in 1464, but the place is much older. Vísky originally consisted of the three round Lingen Horni Vísky, Prostřední Vísky and Dolni Vísky that grew together over time to a village. From 1770 began the school in Vísky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vísky formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. 1889 moved into the school a private school house. In 1896 in Vísky opened a post office, which was also the branch of the Post Office Savings Bank. 1897 established the teacher January Matoušek a local library. Matoušek also led the post office. 1902 the municipality bought a fire engine. East of the village took place 1939-1941 construction of the autobahn in Vienna Wroclaw. In the last days of World War II Vísky was occupied by the Wehrmacht, on 9 May 1945, the German troops left the village fled. The road link between Letovice, Vísky, Pamětice and Michov was built in 1950. With the beginning of 1961 Vísky was assigned to the Okres Blansko. Together with the communities Pamětice and Michov was formed in 1999, the project of the School of Rural Renewal ( Škola obnovy Venkova ) whose seat is in Vísky. In 2004, opened a tourist center Agrocentrum Ohrada. Visky was elected in 2008 to the village fes year in the South Moravian Region. In the community, there is a breed of Altkladrauer centimes.

Attractions

  • Parish Church of St.. Michael in Oberndorf, the original Romanesque church was built in the 13th century and is one of the oldest churches in Moravia. Its present form was given to 1640th One of the two church bells comes from the Gothic period and shall be to the traditions according to the oldest in Moravia. She wears an enigmatic inscription from Old Czech Gothic minuscule. Legend says that a pilgrim from the East to have been drenched in blood on the bell of a great battle below Vísky by the next morning the creek at the mill Pastvisko has read. The inscription was in November 2009 by the Director of the Museum Blansko, Eva Nečasová be partially deciphered.
