Vitali Karamnov

Vitaly Vladimirovich Karamnow (Russian Виталий Владимирович Карамнов; born July 6, 1968 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach, who during his career, among other things, for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League as well as the Berlin Capitals and Krefeld penguins played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. His son Vitaly Karamnow is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Karamnow began his career in the youth teams of HK Dynamo Moscow, for its first team he during the 1986/87 season in the top Soviet league, the Wysschaja league debut. In 1987 he moved to Dinamo Kharkiv in the second division, the Perwaja league. At the end of the season 1987/88 he managed with Dinamo Kharkiv promotion to the Wysschaja league. Between 1989 and 1991 he played for Torpedo Yaroslavl, before he returned to his hometown club. With this in 1992 he became Master of the CIS.

NHL Entry Draft 1992, he was selected in the third round of 62 place by the St. Louis Blues. He then moved to the Blues in the National Hockey League, came there in the next three years but also of immediate farm team, the Peoria Rivermen of the International Hockey League, are used.

1995 Karamnow went for a season to Finland to JYP Jyväskylä. From 1996 to 1999 Karamnow played in Germany at the Berlin Capitals and Krefeld Penguins. The 1999/2000 season he spent at the Czech club HC Slovnaft Vsetín. For the 2000/01 season, the left winger returned to Russia in the Super League, where he stood at Vityaz Podolsk and Salavat Yulaev Ufa under contract. After the 2003 /04 Karamnow finished his career with the then second division HK Spartak Moscow.

Since 2011 Karamnow works as a trainer and initially oversaw the HK WMF Saint Petersburg from the Wysschaja Hockey League. In the 2012/13 season, he was standing by the HC Lev Prague as assistant coach under contract.

Internationally

Karamnow in 1996 was nominated for the World Cup in the Russian national ice hockey team and played eight games there. He prepared two doors, finished the tournament but finished in fourth place with the team.
