Vladimir Gorbunov

Vladimir Vladimirovich Gorbunov ( born April 22, 1982 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2011 with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Vladimir Gorbunov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the HK CSKA Moscow, for its first team he made his debut in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league was in the 1999/2000 season. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the fourth round as a total 105 players from the New York Islanders, for whom he never played, however. Instead, the attacker remained at CSKA Moscow and went with his team in the 2001/ 02 season in the Super League on. In the Super League, he spent another two years at CSKA, before he moved to the 2004/05 season in the Super League to Ufa Salavat Yulaev. He left his new club but after just one game again and signed a contract with the second division club HK MVD Tver, with the reach him right away the second division championship and promotion to the Super League.

After three years Gorbunov left the HK MVD Tver and joined for the 2007 /08 season, his hometown club, CSKA Moscow. From 2008 to 2010 he performed for his meanwhile moved by Balaschicha former club HK MVD in the Kontinental Hockey League newly established. With this he was defeated in the 2009/10 season Ak Bars Kazan until the final of the playoffs for the Gagarin Cup. After the season of HK MVD was merged with the HK Dynamo Moscow and the left gunner received a contract for the 2010/11 season in its successor team OHK Dynamo. For the 2011/12 season he moved within the KHL to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.
