Vladimir Stogov

Vladimir Stepanovich Stogow (Russian: Владимир Степанович Стогов, scientific transliteration Vladimir Stepanovic Stogov; * 1930, † 17 May, 2005 Moscow) was a Soviet weightlifter.

Career

Vladimir Stogow came with 18 years of weight-lifting. He showed a lot of talent and won many competitions in the Soviet Union excellent rankings. Therefore, he has been delegated to the Central Army Sports Club CSKA Moscow, where he found excellent trainer and training conditions. In 1955 he became Soviet champion before the succession of alternated in the featherweight Olympic champion Ivan Udodow wrestling with him and Victor Wilchowski Bakir Farchutdinow first time. He was then sent to the World Championships in Munich, where he became world champion bantamweight promptly. Until 1962 he represented the then Soviet Union in many international competitions with great success. There he failed to become Olympic champion. 1956, the American Charles Vinci snatched away the gold medal. In 1960, he was not used.

Vladimir Stogow was after finishing his playing career officer in the Soviet army.
