Voices of a Distant Star

Voices of a Distant Star (Japaneseほしのこえ, Hoshi no Koe, dt " voice of the star " ) is an anime by Makoto Shinkai, which was produced in 2002 as OVA. The film was also adapted as a light novel and manga.

Action

Production

The 25-minute anime Hoshi no Koe was written solely by Makoto on his Macintosh and produced. Noboru was by himself and Mikako from his fiancee Mika Shinohara (筱 原 美 香) speaking, the already helped him in his previous work Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko. Later, the film for the DVD release, however, was dubbed professionally in which Mikako were spoken by Sumi Muto and Noboru Chihiro Suzuki. Makoto's friend Tenmon provided the soundtrack.

The credits title Through The Years And Far Away comes from Low ( Yūki Mizusawa ).

Anime

The film was broadcast in Japan from the Animax satellite television. ADV Films released the anime in the United States in May 2003 on DVD. In addition, the film was released in Italian, Russian and French, and in Sweden. A German version was published on 25 June 2010 at Anime - label Kazé on a single DVD, and in a complete edition with Makoto Shinkai film 5 cm per second.

The film's soundtrack was released on CD as well.

Light Novel

In 2002 an implementation of a novel, which appeared in the Light Novel Label MF Bunko J. The text comes from Waku Oba, the illustrations by Makoto Shinkai and Kō Yaginuma.

Manga

The anime was moved under the title The Voices of a Distant Star as manga in Afternoon magazine of Kodansha Publishing and appeared monthly from February to December 2004. The story begins in the manga as in the film, but the plot carries a little further away. The text is by Shinkai, Mizu Sahara 's illustrations.

The manga was published by Tokyopop in English and appeared at d / visual in Italian. In June 2008, the manga was published in German in Egmont Manga and Anime.

Reception

The anime won numerous prizes, including the 2002 Digital Contents Grand Prix for the drawings in the Entertainment category and the special prize in the category Digital Arts of the 6th Bunka -chō - Media Geijutsusai Ministry of Education. The award for excellence in open competition on the Tōkyō Kokusai Anime Fair 21, the Top o Nerae!
