Voléro Zürich

The VBC Volero Zurich is a volleyball club from the city of Zurich. It was founded in 1973. The home games are played at the sports hall in Birch in Oerlikon. Special meetings, such as in the CEV Champions League will, be held in the indoor sports hall of Zurich. The VBC Volero Zurich currently has around 180 active members, of which 60 are junior age, and decreases with 15 teams participating in the current championships.

Sporting successes

In the 1970s, the men's division was extremely successful. The team was 1977 Swiss Champion and 1975 and 1978 Cup Winners' Cup. Moreover, in the European Champions' Cup quarter-finals has been reached. In the new millennium the area was crucial woman professional. This resulted in 2005-2013 eight double profits. Season 2013-2014

By the eighth double in itself Volero Zurich has secured direct entry into the CEV Volleyball Champions League for the first time. The goal is to achieve the playoff phase. The decided by double winners new alignment to position Volero Zurich as a top European club has adopted in 2013 outlines in the spring. For intensive season 2013-2014 with Club World Cup, Champions League, Women 's Top Volley and NLA and Swiss Cup, the Zurich club with experienced players has intensified: Firstly, the returnee Mira Golubvic, on the other hand, the Brazilian setter Karine Guerra de Souza and the Cuban top player Kenya Carcaces Opon and the Liberation Yuko Sano. Together with the existing Volero players Nneka Onyejekwe, Nadia Ninkovic, Inès Granvorka, Laura Unternährer and Karla Klaric and young talents Jovana Gogić and Yevgeniya Nyukhalova forms the Zurich club a well-mixed collective.
