Volodymir Gustov

Volodymyr Hustow (Ukrainian Володимир Густов; * 15 February 1977 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian cyclist.

Volodymyr Hustow was founded in 2000 with the Italian professional cycling team Fassa Bortolo. Before the Tour de Romandie 2002, he has been tested with a hematocrit of about 50 percent and then punished with a 15-day protective barrier. In mid-May it was announced that Hustow naturally has a high hematocrit and the lock was released. In the same year he drove for the first time the Tour de France and finished it as his best ever participation at the 40th place overall. In 2003 he secured his first victory, he decided the Rating Rothaus Regio - Tour for themselves. At the end of the season, the Fassa Bortolo team of Giancarlo Ferretti dissolved and Hustow was without a contract since. His former team-mate Ivan Basso then got him a spot on Team CSC by Bjarne Riis. In 2009, he joined the Swiss Cervélo TestTeam.
