Votkinsk Reservoir

The Votkinsk Reservoir (Russian Воткинское водохранилище ) is a reservoir of Kama, which is dammed at Tchaikovsky in the Perm region in the European part of Russia.

The purpose of the named after the city of Votkinsk dam is navigability, power generation and water flow regulation. In a hydroelectric power plant ( ⊙ 56.79194454.083889 ) a power of 1000 MW is generated.

The reservoir was impounded in the years 1962 to 1964. The size of the water surface is given in the sources 1,120 km ² or 1300 square kilometers. For the dynamic content, there are two specifications 9.4 and 15 billion cubic meters. The lake is 365 km long and up to 9 km wide. The average water depth is 8.4 m (calculated from the respective first shall be provided for storage and content area). The Saigatka also flows into the reservoir.

On the shore of the reservoir are among other places Perm, Krasnokamsk, Nytwa, Ochansk and Ossa.

The shut-off is a gravity dam combined with a Erdschüttdamm. Its maximum height is 44 m, the total length of 4982 m.
