Vrbice (Rychnov nad Kněžnou District)

Vrbice ( German Weidenbusch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south-west of Rychnov nad Kněžnou and belongs to Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

Geography

The place in the headwaters of the creek Vrbický located in the north of Chotzener panel ( Choceňská tabule ) on the hill Kastel (444 m) between the valleys of the rivers Wild eagles and Brodec.

Neighboring towns are Příkazy and Vyhnánov in the north, Mnichovství and Záměl in the northeast, Potštejn in the east, Proruby, Nové Litice and Lhoty u Potštejna the southeast, Chleny and Chlínky in the south, Krchleby the southwest, Svídnice in the west and Sucha Rybná in the northwest.

History

Slavic settlement of the area took place probably in the mid-13th century. It has been proven that at least has been a church in the 13th century on the hill.

The first mention of Vrbice took place on October 24, 1495 as a possession of the reign pot stone. At that time, existed in the area surrounded by woods Vrbice only two grounds. With the expansion of the village, the forests were cleared.

1556 acquired the mortgage holder of the neighboring county of Glatz, Ernst of Bavaria, the rule Pottenstein including Doudleby of John of Pernštejna. Two years later sold the property to Ernest of Bavaria Wenzel elders of Okrauhlik and Great Mr. village, from which it acquired in 1562 Nicholas the Elder of Bubna. He suggested Vrbice to the rule Doudleby.

Until the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1848 Vrbice remained submissive after Doudleby. 1888, the fire department was founded. In 1960, the annexation took place after Chleny, which was reversed after the Velvet Revolution in 1990.

The municipality consists of the villages of Vrbice Chlínky ( Chlinek ) and Vrbice ( Weidenbusch ) and the monolayer Draha, Sadka and Čeřeny.
