Vršovka

Vršovka ( German Werschow, formerly Wrowka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southwest of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Vršovka is located in the Eagle foothills on the left side of the river Mettau the hill Pustinka (354 m), in the headwaters of the creek Rejhy. To the west rises the Králíčkův Kopec ( Serowatkowskiberg, 330 m). South of the village is the Stauweiher Halin, west of the pond Kacíř.

Neighboring towns are Krcin in the north, Nove Mesto nad Metují and Spy in the northeast, and Březiny Běstviny in the east, in the southeast Dobruška, Pulice and Puličky in the south, Pohoří in the southwest, and Bohuslavice Homole in the west and Černčice in the northwest.

History

Vršovka nad Metují first recorded as early as the reign Nove Mesto in documents in 1527. After the Thirty Years' War was a division of the village; four property belonged to the dominion Opočno.

1836 had 222 inhabitants Vršovka and consisted of 40 houses. 1848 lived 231 people in the village. After the abolition of patrimonial Vršovka formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Nové Město nad Metují. 1930, Vršovka 218 inhabitants. After the Second World War the village was reclassified to Okres Dobruška and heard since its dissolution in 1960 for Okres Náchod.
