Vyškov District

The Okres Vyškov ( Wischau District ) is located in the east of the South Moravian Region ( South Moravian Region )

Geography

The area is 876 km ², of which 55% is arable. About 40 % is forested. In the region there are 79 municipalities, five cities. The district is located in the border area between two mountain ranges, the Bohemian Massif ( Český Massif surface ) and the Carpathian Mountains, the geological boundary forms the Wischau Valley ( Vyškovský úval ).

Economy

In the industry, about 30 % of the people are employed six percent in agriculture. The main segments served are the wooden and metal processing. The unemployment rate is 8.9% on average, the South Moravian Region.

Attractions

The district is not a tourist area, but offers visitors but some attractions such as

• The Romanesque rotunda from the 11th century in Pustimerice
• The castles in Výškov, Račice, Ivanovice na Hané, Bučovice and Nesovice.
• The baroque castle at Austerlitz Brno, which houses an exhibition on the Battle of Three Emperors.
• Folk architecture can be found in Lysovice, Rostěnice, Kučerov, Ruprechtov and Luleč.
• Technical monuments are two Dutch windmills in Ruprechtov and Chavalkovice u Bučovic.
• Recreation areas are the areas of water in Luleč, Račice - Pístovice and Ruprechtov.
