The Waechtersbach station is the City Waechtersbach station on the Kinzig Valley Railway in Hesse. History

The station was built as a station on the Frankfurt- Bebra railway / Kinzig Valley Railway. The start-up of the section Hanau East (now Hanau Hbf ) Waechtersbach began on May 1 In 1867 the traffic.

The section Waechtersbach - Birstein the Vogelsberger Southern Railway was opened on June 30, 1898 by Waechtersbach Small - Birsteiner Railroad Company. The section Birstein - Hartmannshain was opened on 23 December 1934. The Vogelsberger southern runway was decommissioned on 27 May 1967.

As part of the 1961 completed electrification of the Kinzig Valley Railway of 4000. Electrified route km was achieved in the network of the German Federal Railroad in Waechtersbach and on this occasion unveiled a plaque at the station.

The railway guard Bach Bad Orb was originally a standard gauge railway line, which began in Waechtersbach, leading to Bad Orb. It was opened on May 23, 1901 set the operation on March 4, 1995. Infrastructure

The reception building of Wächtersbacher station is today a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act.

The station has a house and an island platform. The main platform ( platform 1) is used by the regional express trains of the relation Fulda and Frankfurt Hbf. Track 2, track 3 shares with a central platform, is the track in the opposite direction. Track 3 is the beginning of Waechtersbach regional trains to Frankfurt Hbf

The entry and exit to / from the regional express trains is accessible for wheelchair users with assistance. The station itself is expanded not handicapped accessible. However, there are attempts to build a pad.

Traffic

Waechtersbach is located in the tariff area of the Rhine -Main Transport Association ( RMV). It run a Regional-Express, one designated as a city express suburban train and in the summer months from May to October tourist train three times a day.

Train

At the station, the regional express from Fulda to Frankfurt holds (RE 50) daily every hour. There is also a also daily hourly circulating regional train (SE 50). In the weekday rush hours some regional trains run further into the neighboring Bad Soden- Salmuenster.

Bus

On Wächtersbacher bus station, among other things, take bus 81 to 84, providing transportation to Bad Soden- Salmuenster, Flörsbachtal, Jossgrund and Bad Orb. On these lines, the usual BahnCards 50 and 100 do not apply.
