The Waitangi River is a river in the Far North district in the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand.

It flows from its source near the north shore of Lake Omapere to the east and ends around 28 km away near Waitangi in the Bay of Islands.

About 2.5 km to the west of its mouth to about 5 m high waterfalls are Haruru Falls. Excursion boats ply the river from Paihia way up to the waterfall.
