Waldemar Sorychta

Waldemar Sorychta (born 1967 in Zabrze ) is a Polish- German metal musician and music producer. Born in Poland, Sorychta lives in Dortmund since 1982.

Career

First experiences gained Sorychta as a guitarist Dortmund thrash metal band Despair, with which he published in the late 1980s and early 1990s three albums. Later he was hired by Phillip Boa for its Voodoocult Metal project. As part of the recordings for the album Jesus Killing Machine in 1994, he met the drummer Dave Lombardo of Slayer know. After a complete reshuffle of the art project Voodocult both founded the band Grip Inc..

In the period from 1995 to 2004 Sorychta took Grip Inc. on four albums, where he was responsible for both the songwriting and the production. Highlight of the joint activities was the Dynamo Open Air 1999. Since returning Lombardo Slayer 2001 and the death of the singer Grip Inc. Gus Chambers 2008, the band rests.

First Waldemar Sorychta worked mainly as a producer for the record label Century Media. Among the most famous bands, produced albums under his auspices, include Samael, Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Tristania, Tiamat, Dismal Euphony, Gurd, Moonspell, Therion and My Insanity.

Currently plays Sorychta at Eyes of Eden, ReVamp and Enemy of the Sun. In all bands, he is shown both for the compositions as well as for the production charge. Wrote for Andreas Geremia and Bobby Schottkowski as Bobby & Gerre and he produced in 2012 the song Two of the tanks and also played this live at Rock Hard Festival.

Sorychta is an avowed fan of the football club Borussia Dortmund.
