Walls-of-Jerusalem-Nationalpark

The Walls of Jerusalem National Park (English: Walls of Jerusalem National Park ) is located in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania. The park with a size of about 518 km ² was founded on 24 June 1981. He's Tasmanian Wilderness since 1982 part of the UNESCO World heritage and is available both on the UNESCO list of cultural and natural heritage. Here is the King David's Peak.

Tourism

The area is not developed as much of the Tasmanian wilderness by roads. It is only for experienced hikers ( Walker Bush ) or skiers accessible that be very careful because of the often very changeable weather conditions and must take appropriate precautions, fully informed about the Parks & Wildlife Service.

Nature

The national park is characterized above all by its alpine vegetation with endemic coniferous forests and cushion heath stocks. In fire- protected areas are encountered stocks of cypress -like scales spruce. Geographically, the area is characterized by glacial moraines and glacial lakes.
