Warren is the largest city in Macomb County in Michigan, United States. The city has 138 247 inhabitants and is the largest suburb in the metropolitan Detroit area. The area of the city is 88.9 km ² ( 0.1 km ² water). 1,557 people live on one square kilometer.
Population Development
Warren is strongly influenced by the U.S. auto industry as the entire metropolitan region, and their development can be almost exemplary seen in the development of populations. In the boom years in the 1920s and 1930s after Henry Ford on the band revolutionized the manufacture with the production, followed by growth until the 1970s, when the first oil crisis and the gaining strength competition, especially from Japan, the automotive production in the U.S. for the first time has been declining. Over the next 30 years, there has been a steady decline that continues to this day; only recently the U.S. auto industry was able to reverse the trend: the U.S. manufacturers could in 2010 after long years back to gain market share, primarily at the expense of Japanese manufacturers; Chrysler has regained traction in conjunction with Fiat, GM has made billions in profits and Ford has grown and financially healthy.
