Weibern, Austria

Women is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Gries district churches in Hausruckviertel with 1632 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Women lies at an altitude of 441 m above sea level. A. in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 5.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 5.7 km. The total area is 17.4 km ². 11.4% of the area is forested, 76 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Dirisam, Schwarzgrub and women.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Shared; up in a golden red, stylized crown, which ends at the bottom of the dividing line in the form of a Doppelsturzsparrens, sign up in the corners and in the middle in between these peaks; down split of blue and silver with two and a half right bits. The municipality colors are red - yellow-blue.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. Music

The traditional band of women was founded over 150 years ago by Peter Walla Berger with 7 men, and has since been the population of women with traditional music. Today, the Musikverein counts under the direction of Robert " Bobo " Mittendorfer 81 active members. In addition to the traditional band women also has two youth bands, which provide for their young at the chapel.
