Wenguan Johnny Huang

Wenguan Johnny Huang ( born October 5, 1962 in Shunde, China ) is a Canadian table tennis player of Chinese descent. He took so far (2007 ) participated in 10 World Championships for Canada.

Career

Wenguan Huang holds the bat in shakehand style. It occupies both sides with pimples.

In China, he stood in the shadow of the absolute top players, such as Jiang Jialiang, Teng Yi Chen or Longcan. Therefore, he wandered in the late 1980s to relatives to Canada. Here he lived with his wife in Toronto. Since his name was difficult for Canadians to remember they called him Johnny Huang. In 1991 he first came to Canada at the World Championships, where he among other things, the Chinese Ma Wenge defeated.

1992 moved Wenguan Huang to Halle (Westphalia), to compete in the Bundesliga for the Spvg Steinhagen. A year later he moved to Montpellier. International tournaments he played continue for Canada, about all World Cups to date (2007). From 1991 to 2004 he won 11 times North American championships and twice the Commonwealth Championships. When ITTF ProTour tournament he won once, five times he finished second. 1996, 2000 and 2004 he was represented at the Olympic Games.

Private

Wenguan Huang is married to the table tennis player Juan Zhu, who played in the first women's Bundesliga for VfB Lübeck in 1992. At that time it was the only couple with both partners in the 1st Bundesliga.
