Wenzel von Linhart

Wenzel von Linhart ( born June 6 1821 in Seelowitz, Moravia, † October 22, 1877 in Würzburg ) was an Austrian physician. He was privy councilor, professor of surgery and chief physician of the Julius Hospital Würzburg.

Life

His father, a surgeon, moved to Brno. In the fall of 1838 he began to study medicine in Vienna, Josef Berres ( 1796-1844 ), where he received his doctorate in 1844. In February 1845, he came to the run by Joseph Watt man of Maëlcamp Beaulieu - operation Institute, where he was a doctor of surgery after two years of course and received his diploma as a surgeon kk.

From 1845-49 he was an assistant in the lectures of Professor John of Dumreicher about surgical nosology and operative surgery and was at the same time from February 1847 until March 1849 Secundärchirurg at the Imperial general hospital. October / November 1848 he was a surgeon in the emergency hospital in the Augarten. In March 1849 he became an assistant at the second, led by Dumreicher surgical clinic.

He gave lectures on surgical anatomy and operative surgery and in 1852 lecturer in operative surgery at the University of Vienna. After his private practice grew, he gave in 1853 his position in the hospital on. In 1856 he was appointed as successor to Adolf Morawek ( 1816-1855 ), a professor of surgical clinic in Würzburg.

For the care of the wounded in the war of 1866 Würzburg, he was appointed in 1867 to the Royal Bavarian Court Counsellor. The Franco-German War of 1870-71, he made with as baierischer general doctor. Repeated inflammation of the throat leading to hearing loss and in the spring of 1877 to tongue cancer.
