The West Croydon Station is located in the London Borough of Croydon and is listed in Travelcard Zone 5. Behind East Croydon it is the second largest train station in Croydon. He is in possession of the Network Rail, but is managed by TfL. History

Occupied the site of the station 1809-1836 a basin of the Croydon Canal, which, however, the railroad had to give way and was bricked. Its present name from the railway station in 1851, after the L & CR and L & BR to London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB & SCR) had joined forces and East Croydon in 1846 received its current name. 1855 opened the Wimbledon and Croydon Railway Company, a railway line from West Croydon to Wimbledon Station.

1930, the former station building was closed at the bus stop on Station Road and replaced by the existing today on the London Road. The former banking hall even features as a retail store. In 1997, the route to Wimbledon was shut down, the trains used for the terminal platform 2 was maintained until 2008. The decommissioning was performed for the reconstruction of the route for the tram, Tramlink, went into operation in 2000. However, it does not stop at the station, but in a common bus and tram stop at Station Road. Bus

In the immediate vicinity of the railway station, there are two bus stops, one hand direct access node at the Station Road, on the other hand, even the St. Michaels Road stop. Both stations are served by a total of 24 lines, St. Michaels Road additionally three night buses.
