West Macedonia

Western Macedonia, Western Macedonia also, (Greek Δυτική Μακεδονία, Dytikí Makedonía ) is one of the thirteen regions of Greece and the western part of the geographical region of Macedonia. Capital of the region of Kozani.

Regional districts and municipalities

The West Macedonia region is divided into four regional districts that correspond to the fields of up to 2010 existing prefectures. Proportional to their population, they send a certain number of MEPs in the 51 -member Regional Council.

Economy

Expressed in comparison with the EU GDP in purchasing power standards reached Western Macedonia 2006 index of 76.0 (EU-27 = 100).
