The West Tamar Highway is a highway in the north of the Australian state of Tasmania. It connects Launceston along the west bank of the Tamar River to the coastal settlement Greens Beach.

Course

The highway begins in the city center of Launceston and runs through the suburbs of Riverside and North Riverside northwest. After leaving the urban area of West Tamar Highway connects the wine-growing villages along the Tamar River as Legana and Exeter and reached as the next city Beaconsfield. A few kilometers before it is connected by the only bridge on the Tamar River, the Batman Bridge over the course of Batman Highway ( B73 ), with the East Tamar Highway.

Beaconsfield leaves the West Tamar Highway to the north and follows from Beauty Point on Iffraville after Yorktown the curved shoreline of Port Dalrymple. In Yorktown, the road turns again to the north, until they reached the town of Kelso at the entrance to the natural harbor. From there it is only a short distance to West - Northwest to endpoint in Greens Beach.
