Westbourne Park tube station

Westbourne Park is an aboveground station London Underground in the urban district of City of Westminster. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2 on the Westway, a multi-lane expressway. Here courses of the Hammersmith & City Line and the Circle Line. In 2011, 3.03 million passengers used the station. The tracks of the subway are parallel to the Great Western Main Line, the main railway line between Paddington and the West of England.

The opening of the station took place on February 1, 1866 by the Metropolitan Railway (now the Metropolitan Line). The route was opened in 1864 but by the Hammersmith & City Railway. This company was initially part of the Great Western Railway in 1867, and came into the possession of the Metropolitan Railway. On 31 October 1871, the station was closed and the next day a little further east reopened. In 1990, the operational independence of the Hammersmith branch of the Metropolitan Line under the name Hammersmith & City Line. Since December 13, 2009 here also keep trains on the Circle Line.
