Western Rhaetian Alps

The Western Rhaetian Alps is the section 15 of the SOIUSA classification in the Eastern Alps.

Division

After SOIUSA they contain the following groups of mountains. ( These are similar to the groups of the AVE division, but knows this is no common parent structure):

  • Platta Alps 15.I
  • Albula Alps 15.II
  • Bernina Alps 15.III
  • Livigno Alps 15.IV
  • The Münstertal Alps 15.V coincide with the Sesvenna group of the AVE, up to Umbrailgruppe and Chavalatschkamm
  • Silvretta and Samnaun Group and Verwall together in 15.VI
  • Plessurgebirge 15.VII
  • Rätikon 15.VIII
